XO Nashville

Client: Fifth + Broadway
Type: Commercial
Location: Downtown Nashville
Project Timeline: 8 days

This 70ft wide x 13ft high mural is by far my most popular mural in Nashville. Fifth & Broadway is a massive $25M development that brings a lively retail and dining scene complete with all the bells and whistles that Nashville was missing. The XO mural is one of the top Nashville photo op locations for tourists and visitors to enjoy. The Fifth & Broad team also gifted me with my very own plaque on this wall that looks out parallel to the legendary Ryman Adutorium. Pink peonies for the win!

The Making Of

Local art gallery owner of the Studio 208 and founder of Swipe Right Art, Ashley Bergeron, approached me about a big up coming project and set up a meeting with the Fifth+Broadway development team. They were most interested in my florals and creating a popular wall that would gain social media attraction as an interactive mural. The inspiration was all based on a fresh springtime atmosphere and one of my favorite flowers, peonies. There’s a big plain specific shade of pink wall in Los Angeles that tourist line up to take photos in front of and it’s all because of the color and the way people look in those photos. So different shades of pink mixed with that specific shade of pink was the direction I lead them in. The xo black diamond is the spot on the wall for people to strike a pose. XO, gives people an extra nudge to blow a kiss or have an underlying saying of “It was nice knowing you Nashville”, like a hello or a goodbye postcard but with a person as the main subject. I chose a black diamond because it makes the subject to stand out in the photo. I love the way geometric looks with free flowing lines.
